neighborhood: New Food Co-op in Chestnut Hill, PA

For 30 years, the food co-op in the Mount Airy section of Philadelpha was where everybody in Mt. Airy would meet. What a great store. If you had a neat new recipe with an odd ethnic ingredient, chances are the co-op would have it. I especially loved going there during blizzards. Lots of the staff lived nearby. You could always get hot chocolate and marshmallows and soup or ingredients for soup. The had real special ethnic bagels. Weird shaped, real boiled bagels. Well, when the grandma, specialty grocery....we deliver....store went bankrupt in Chestnut Hill....down the road....the co-op bought it! It took (1 comments)
