This week we saw testimony on Capitol Hill regarding the mortgage crisis as committee members questioned former Fed Chairman Allen Greenspan, former U.S. Treasury Secretary Robert Runin, Ex Citigroup CEO Chick Prince. It is upsetting to still be talking about this issue. The problem was that greed / corruption got the better part of alot of people and we are all now paying the price.Oil hit $87 a barrel this week settling to $84.89 and Gold has been up as well reaching $1,161. 40 Days and 40 Nights of Rain may be a parable from the Bible. But, for New England and much of the Northeast it has been some sort of reality this past March. After getting water in my house a few years ago due to a bursting pipe ,I never quite understood the damage water caused. This March we saw the most rain EVER in Massachusetts. Existing Home Sales in January fell 5.3% Inventories fell in January 2.7% and a 9.6 month supply. 1st time Jobless Claim filings rose by 22,000 and has risen 6 out of 8 weeks in 2010. Durable Goods soared in January up 3% which was the biggest gain since July. A durable good is a product that last at least 3 years which include airplanes, cars, electronics, appliances, business equiptment. 30 Year Fixed Rates increased to 5.3% from 4.94% a week ago. 15 Year Fixed Rates increased to 4.35% from 4.33% a week ago.

What Does a Hot Air Balloon, a Gold Jacket, and a Rock have to do with Real Estate? This is what the "Big 3" in Real Estate identify themselves as their "brand". But, what do these things really have to do with Real Estate? I would say if someone came to your house to list or show you a home dressed in a gold jacket you might not let him in. It's depressing how Real Estate agents and professionals around here (New England) know so little about the importance of social media. It was obvious today after we went door to door promoting our class on Twitter & Facebook to offices, owner brokers, and managers that something is clearly missing. I went to over 15 offices in the Andover, North Andover, MA area speaking to agents, giving hand outs, and even sent out over 500 e-mails to Realtors. One office which has over 70 agents said to me "they have a good handle on their social media sites". What does that mean? … (20 comments)
