There is an old saying that "birds of a feather, flock together" While I think that its important to be an individual, you can not discount the influence that those around you have on your day to day perceptions.
We all have one friend who is forever leaning toward negativity. Imagine if all of your friends consistently shared negativity with you. Imagine how hard it would be to voice a positive opinion in the face of all that negativity.
Now imagine surrounding yourself with positive people who are consistently finding solutions, encouraging you and looking for ways to grow. Wouldn't that also have an impact on you? Take a look at the friends you surround yourself with. Are you the most positive person? If not, what can you do to change that? If you are the most positive person you might want to add some positive people to your circle of friends. You can do this by joining new business and social groups that focus on positive thinking.
