My husband and myself would be considered real estate junkies, we love to keep tabs on our local market in the Sacramento area. We would regularly go on Sunday drives through our local foothill area, tour open houses and speculated on any given parcel with a for sale sign out front. On one of these outings we saw a property that peaked our interest and called the agent on the sign out in front. The next day that agent, John Du Priest, met us at the property for a tour. As it ended up the house wasn’t something that would suit us but we liked John, he came across as straight forward, very knowledgeable about county property and the area, he had also been a Realtor for over 30 years. He was an older gentleman, retired Air Force, we were current Air Force, and he had the most charming Texas drawl, this being California was unusual for sure. We ended keeping in touch with John, occasionally looking at a parcel, and a year and a half later we purchased our current property through him, and from there blossomed a wonderful and surprising friendship.
I say surprising as he and his wife were definitely old enough to be are parents, in fact their youngest were our age. But it was more then that, we found we really enjoy each others company. My husband and I have met all 5 of their children and their 13 grandchildren, we were honored to be invited to their 50 wedding anniversary and when their last daughter to be married, finally tied the knot, we attended the ceremony. One of our favorite things to do is meet at our local dive-of-a-Mexican-restaurant and talk about real estate, politics and sports, usually in that order.
So what started as a chance meeting, 6 years later has turned into a great friendship. I would like to recommend John DuPriest and his real estate brokerage for anyone looking for country property in the South Placer County area. He is a Realtor with a vast amount of experience, integrity and you may even end up with a dear friend too.
