Hi Marchel...That looks like the perfect spot to be on a hot summer day.  We'll be having them before we know it.

GARY WOLTAL, It took me 11 years of living here to start taking advantage of Mercer Arboretum but it is a wonderful garden.  I can't believe I missed out all that time and it is FREE.

SHELDON, It sometimes is a secret garden as we don't take advantage of it the way we should.  Especially when it is a FREE secret garden.

TERI, There are a mixture of koi and goldfish.  We tried raising them ourselves one time but I think we mainly fed the raccoons.  Now that the city has moved in we would not have that problem any longer but I will just go and enjoy them at Mercer Arboretum.

GARY WHITE, How wonderful to have a pond like this in your backyard. I have a small pond with a waterfall but nothing like this.

ANDREA, You can come and it is FREE to the public.

KAT, It is a peaceful place.  A wonderful place to relax on a Sunday afternoon; well for that matter any afternoon.

KATE, It is a great place on a hot summer day.  They have lots of large towering oaks and pines so there's also lots of shade.

LOREENA, I love arboretums.  I am such a cheapskate I didn't go to this one for years thinking there was a charge.  Shoot it is such a nice place I would gladly pay but found out it is open to the public.

Hi Marchel, This place looks quite lovely.  I have been to the arboretum in Houston near Memorial Drive inside the loop, which was nice.  The Mercer Arboretum sounds nice, too, and it is free.  How great is that...

DALE, I can almost guarantee there are NO bass in that pond.  Now you could go fishing for some goldfish or koi (well maybe not).

RITA, It is a peaceful place to kick back and enjoy.

JENNIFER, with all the rain we have had lately we are talking very green right now.  WOO HOO I love it!!

SHIRLEY, I was so amazed it was FREE!  There are not many Free places like this available.

LYNDA, I love sharing a great deal also and you can't get better than FREE; especially for something so PRETTY!

WILLIAM, Thank you!!  It is a lovely arboretum!

KATE, I planted about 2/3 of my vegetable garden before the rain hit and if you wanted to wiggle your toes in the mud I have plenty in my garden.

PATRICIA, Thanks!  So I hear you are getting dumped on.  I so remember those wet spring snows but hey they bring those spring flowers.  I do miss tulips!!

KAREN, I think this couple had that same general idea.  I love this picture but since I don't know the couple I decided it was not good to use for my wordless Wednesday.

Hi Marchel:  It's a revelation to discover something in your own back yard that went unnoticed for a long time.   Same with My Wetlands (see, I own them now ;-).  I even bicycled into the area years ago and didn't realize the Wetlands were back there.....and FREE is GOOD!!!!

The picture is delightful....thanks.

I'm addicted to ponds, water falls, and water fountains. Interestingly, I live in a world-class beach city but I don't like beaches. Maybe it's the sand in the shoes.
