Traffic Issues Affecting Home Sales

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX 1st Class 0542725

I for one can't wait for the construction on I-45 to be complete.  It's killing my open houses in League City - MarBella.  This is such a beautiful community and sales have been red hot!  But, the weekend open houses are not so hot on weekends when I-45 is closed...  I'm very excited about the finished product though.  It should really help traffic flow.  And the NASA bypass is awesome!

Then again, nobody ever said they loved traffic!!!

Man is this going to be a burden to deal with while showing 15 plus homes on a day when traffic is backed up! Get ready to extend those showing times! You may also want to have a DVD Player in car for children to keep them entertained while you fight back road rage! Ha!

Is not "construction on I-45 to be complete" an oxymoron.  I remember stories of individuals going to work for the highway department and working on I-45 their entire career.

I do hope they finish the project that is causing you concern.  Good luck.

Brian,

Since you commented on my post yesterday  (Basics) I thought I would check out your area.  I have been through your area, but to League City. I have been on I-45.  Good luck.  Here in northwestern PA we have two seaons:  winter and construction season, jokingly. Try hosting on-line open house via webinar.  We use the internet for so many things why not a virtual open house?

Also, welcome to AR.

This going to be horrible if the weather does not improve on top of the traffic!

Once it is completed, things will be a lot better. It would be nice if they considered doing some of this construction before the boom of people move into the area. Look at 288 for example. There was ample time to widen that highway but they wait to do this stuff after all of the new subdivisions are completed and so many people now are needing to access the highway.
