Don't Call it a Comeback!

By
Real Estate Agent with Prestige Properties

I'm not ready to say it is a full recovery but surely the signs are showing we may be on our way.  Housing prices are holding steady and in many areas going up.  Inventory is finally down and building permits are on the rise again.  They are certainly not at the level of a year ago but looking back a few months ago we are going in the right direction.

Everybody get out there and shake the bushes and let's make sure this maintains a correct heading!

(pep talk for the day since my Dukies lost and I am feeling blue!)

I don't know that I'd call it a come back either though I will call it a definite step in the right direction.

Watching carefully and cautiously, but hopeful. Since January we see a warming up market. market is in turmoil, but there is clearly more interest to real estate.

I too think we are seeing signs of improvement....welcome signs.  Time and stats will tell. I'm looking forward to the end of the month to see how sales compare to last month and March 2008.

Leolinda,

flippers are still around here but properties for them are getting harder to find.  A lot have been stuck with properties as well.  They bought too many and once they were fixed up they were competing with the other sellers and the flippers couldn't reduce their prices very much.  I am seeing a lot of properties that were intended to be flips are now up for rent.  We are in unique times and I am still waiting to see how some of it shakes out.

Cameron, go easy on my Devils, you have to think they were one of the top 16 temas in the country.  Nothing to be ashamed of. :)
