Charlottesville VA Goes Green - Earth Hour 2009

By
Real Estate Agent with Gayle Harvey Real Estate, Inc.

Charlottesville VA goes green by participating in Earth Hour 2009.  Many Charlottesville Virginia residents are concerned with environmental issues such as global warming, energy consumption and land preservation.  The ecofriendly nature of the community is apparent by the increasing number of green built homes.  One way that Charlottesville can show its support for environmental conservation is by observing Earth Hour.earth hour logo

Earth Hour is a global lights out occuring throughtout the world at 8:30 pm local time.  The World Wildlife Fund is asking people to turn off thier lights for one hour which is Earth Hour.  This is a chance for individuals around the world to collectively voice their concern over the changing climate and to show a commitment to ciscovering a solution to the problems facing the planet.

There are several ways that you can record and show your vote:

  • Take a photo during Earth Hour, post it on the Earth Hour Flickr group, tag with your city & country
  • Take a video of your Earth Hour event, upload to the Earth Hour Youtube group
  • Write a blogpost during Earth Hour and tag with earthhour or voteearth and your location
  • Post to twitter on the night and include the hashtags #earthhour or #voteearth and #your location

Support the Charlottesville VA green movement by participating in Earth Hour 2009.  Lets have a dark green night.

Our local newspaper has been reminding people of earth hour all week.  I think since Many parts of New Hampshire were without power for 1 week or more, we are all set and have a credit! (lol)

Dolores and I spent the weekend in Charlottesville. Drove by some you recommended and went to one open house, used your name, where Angus Arrington was the agent for the open. We enjoyed the visit and will plan others. Charlottesville is a special place.

Bill - It is cool to think of people all over the world participating in the same event.

Joan - After that I am sure that you all are not so excited about earth hour.

Karen - It seems like reporting was kind of hit and miss.  I heard of it in some random place on line.

Roy - Charlottesville is a very special place and I feel very lucky to live here.  Glad you enjoyed your visit.

Tamara - We did seem to have a good local particiipation.  It is easy to be part of this event.
