Presenting Kylie
Kylie is a female Australian Shepherd (Red Merle). She also has some Catahoola Leopard Dog in her which gives her those unique colorings. You can see from the photos that her coat is a mix of 5 different colors: white, black, gray, light brown and dark brown.
Kylie was adopted from the Atlanta Humane Society. She just turned 7 years old and she is a very well behaved dog. She is a sweet as can be. She is more interested in meeting and being around humans than she is interested in meeting new dogs. When she is at a dog park, she prefers to stay around his master's feet then wonder off or chase after other dogs. She likes to follow her master around then lead the way. She loves going on long walks and she keeps pace with her master and never pulls on her leash. She loves it when she hears the letters w-a-l-k and will immediately jump with joy to indicate that she is ready and wants to go on a walk.
Kylie loves to play ball and has received some Frisbee training. However, she rarely catches the Frisbee in the air preferring instead to wait till it drops before grabbing it and bringing it back. Kylie is not only cute and well behaved, she is also very intelligent. She has learned and performs several tricks including more difficult ones such as dance, roll over and stay. With the stay command, you can go as far as 100 feet from her and she will patiently wait for you until you call her to come. In return of being obedient and doing the tricks on command, she expects to get treats and especially after a roll over which is not something she is too found of executing but she will do it if she is rewarded with a treat.
Kylie loves her new surroundings in Red Lodge, Montana. She has a brother by the name of Sir Barkley which she plays with. Even though she is stockier than her brother, and does not run as fast as Sir Barkley, she loves to be chased by him and uses 360 degrees turn and turns around obstacles to outsmart him and prevent him from quickly catching her. Eventually, her brother catches her and she lets him grab her by her neck and pull her down but she is very quick to get back on her feet and try to lose him again. Her brother is more agile and has more stamina but she is the one who controls the level of play and lets him know when she had had enough.
Kylie is also a great watch dog. She immediately notifies his master when there is any kind of activity going outside the house (a visitor approaching the entrance of the house or a wild animal hanging out on the front yard). She is also very sweet as she likes to watch over his master and stay besides him if he happens to fall asleep on the couch at night. She makes an excellent life companion and I am so grateful she came into my life. She's got style, she's got grace, she is a winner...
