Kathy Nielsen sent me on a Sunday afternoon Picnik!

Mortgage and Lending with Liberty Bank of Arkansas

I have always enjoyed Kathy's work and her photos are beautiful. But after her post Solutions For Selling Part III - It's All About The Photos! I was inspired to take a little Sunday afternoon Picnik!

I have never been good at taking photos, this is why I hire a professional. These are a before and after photo of a bathroom I recently staged. Notice in the before (among other things) that I caught myself in the mirror .

In the after photo using Picnik I was not only able to change the lighting but also remove myself and the plug-in from the photo. Now I a much better photo that I can use.

Donna: Kathy really knows her photography. I use Picnik as well. I love the collage option. Glad you found something to help you improve your photography. Photo looks very nice BTW.

Thanks, Michelle. Your photos are always beautiful also. I'm going to try the collage option too. I was just playing around this afternoon to see what I could do. I'll get better with practice, but at least I have some photos that I can use now.

Oh boy do I need to play with this program.  I really am not a photographer and anything that will help me in that arena is worth it.  Thanks to you and Kathy for the tip.  I have heard about it, but haven't tried it.  Now I will definitely check it out!

Donna - I'm glad to know that I inspired you.  It's such a nice compliment.  Thank you!

And... glad to hear that you headed over to Picnik.  It's such an awesome site to do edits (and yours look awesome by the way); create collages (like Michele said above) and to add text.  I think on our next rainy day here in Georgia, I'll do some more exploring and see what I can come up with.  I'll be sure to share anything new that I learn.

Thanks Donna for your kind words!

Donna thus far I've been using Picasa but it sounds like Picnik has more available.  I'm going on a picnik tonight.  Thanks.

Sheila, You definitely do need to check this out. I tried Picasa but I think Picnik is easier to use and has more options.

Kathy, You are so welcome! You always inspire me, as do many others here on AR. I'm going to check out the collages and there are a lot of other features to explore also. At least I can go back to some of my photos and help them along a little...and maybe I'll be able to use them. Let us know if you learn anything new!

Ginger, I tried Picasa, but this seems much easier. Hope you enjoy your little Picnik! Give us a post.

Photos look great!  Seems like we are plagued by the same "stager in mirror" phenomenon.  I haven't checked into Picnik, but another really good program that is a free download is Paint.net.  You might want to check it out.

Cathy, I can see myself taking a little Picnik everyday!

Patsy, I try to be careful about that "stager in mirror" thing (I've learned my lesson many times before) I'll check out Paint.net also, Thanks!

I haven't really tried out Piknic, I use Picassa, but your results are fab!!  I'll have to spend more time playing with it one of these days!

Wendy, Have fun, there are a lot of things you can do with it.

Kathy, Her photos are always so good. Piknic is easy to use. I'll have to play around with it some more.

Melissa, I tried Picassa, actually I think you're the one that suggested it to me, but I really like Piknic better, there are so many cool things you can do with it, and to me it was easier than Picassa.

Great job.  I use Picnik for almost every photo I edit.  I use the Colors button to adjust Saturation (makes color more vibrant) and the Sharpen button the most.  I think it is very user friendly.

Thanks Sharon, I have a lot to learn, but I agree it is very user friendly. I was just excited to get the results I did just playing around with it for a little while.

I love Picnik - but I have been using Picasa lately because it allows batch editing. Does the premium package on Picnik allow for batch editing? And how many photos can you upload at a time w/the premium site?

Nicky, I tried Picasa, but found Picnik easier to use. But I'm not a real techy person. It allows you to upload 100 photos at a time. For the price of $24.95 per year, I personally have found it easy to use and love it!
