Sarah Palin picks homophobic attorney general

Governor Sarah Palin has appointed Anchorage attorney, Wayne Anthony Ross as Alaska's attorney general.

Palin stated that "with his vast legal knowledge, experience and integrity, he will make an exceptional attorney general."

Ross is the very same attorney who referred to gays as "immoral" and "degenerates" in a letter her wrote several years ago to the Anchorage Bar Association newsletter. This was in opposition to an anti-discrimination ordinance being supported by several Anchorage lawyers who were advocating gay rights.

The fact that Palin chose such an individual as Alaska's attorney general is not surprising given her comments on gay rights and her support for a federal ban on gay marriage. Palin has expressed her disagreement with Alasks's Supreme Court's ruling that spousal benefits be extended to same-sex couples.

Hey....at least she's consistent.  I hate the flip flopping.  I haven't heard of that guy, but that just means that I'm out of touch.  Thanks for sharing.

No one can be surprised at her selection. I'm just waiting for her to fade away to never be heard from again.

I agree with Larry, whether you  like her or not...she is consistent.  More of our elected officials all the way to the top could learn from her!!!

William - You have to be kidding!!!

Palin is consistently ignorant, selfish, hypocritical, and self-serving .... what could anyone possibly learn from her?

As governor, it's her call.  If the people of Alaska disagree, they should let her know.  I haven't heard any outcry yet.

Stewart, what did we expect?  She hates wildlife, specifically wolves, why would we think she liked gays?  As an aside it seems when McCain was recently asked if he would back her if she ran in 2012, his reply was "it depends on who she is running against."

Stewart: Palin will be tossed in the next election. She is just a hateful, empty politician.

Terry: Not only does she hunt wildlife for sport, she apparently hates special needs kids, as she rejected $40M in funding for children with special needs.

William: Consistent? Minnesota needs to seat Al Franken. Shortly after the November election, with Coleman up by a couple of hundred votes, demanded that Franked conceed. Now, after months of recounts, Coleman needs to be "consistent" and step aside. He lost.

Actually she's flip flopped and/or lied about everything she has ever said starting with the bridge to no where.

Her 15 minutes were up in November. She will get as far as Dan Quale did nationally, the far right loved him too.

Well without Sarah what would they have used to get Tina to stay on SNL for another few months? Personally I hope she does run for President in 2012, it will signal an end to the GOP as a serious party. On a serious note, I think that consistency, when you are consistently wrong is over rated as a virtue.
