Baseball Coming to Northern Colorado?

As a huge baseball fan, I am excited to hear that we may be getting a minor league baseball franchise here in Northern Colorado.  The plans are in the works to determine if we have a market that can support a team, where the money money would come from to build a ballpark and where the actual ballpark would be located. So far, the Ranch (next to the Bud Event Center) is the only venue mentioned.  This study will be ongoing but by early 2008, we should find out what are chances are for a team.

So far, the word is that the prospective team would play in the American Association of Independent of Professional Baseball league. The league is made up of 10 teams (from Florida, Texas and Minnesota).  The league is the equivalent to a AA baseball club. If all goes well, we could have a team, a ballpark and more summer fun by the 2009 season.
