Clever girl! Margaret, I think I have an immediate use for this post. About the worst I've seen was a home in which the owner was seriously ill and had more stuff than could be put away or stored--without the use of a train car. When I made an appointment to talk to them about listing, they had to clear stacks of magazines and mail off of the couch. Unfortunately, they couldn't put all that on the grand piano--which had a several pots, pans, lids, and some dinnerware on the lid, along with the usual candlesticks. They truly were overwhelmed by the job, and at a disadvantage because of health. They chose another agent, and she got the job done, and the house sold.

Funny!  Great photos!  What a transformation.  I'm getting ready to put my own home on the market and am looking for a professional stager.  Know where I can find a good one?

Kathryn - That and the clutter counter made that bathroom really a danger zone!  I love the clear clean after look!

Kimberly - Thanks - glad I could provide everyone with some smiles!

Fernando - I think the homeowners did great on this job - I provided a consultation, and then came back with some accessories and a few furniture pieces.

Peggy - Thanks so much - I agree 100%!

Todd - Can we get a news team and do a tv feature story for those folks?  I see pictures like that and it makes me want to dive into that project because the after shots would be incredible!

Kim - Guess I was around my 12 year old too much today - just had to share some joking around!

Cecily - You know me too well!  You thought maybe I was throwing in the towel and leaving you looking for another stager?  Never!

Kimo - Thanks for the kind comment -- Before it was so chaotic -- and it became such a retreat!

Zac - These homeowners were willing and excited to do everything we suggested -- they are awesome - and I hear good news is on the way too . . . we all like to hear sold you know!

Donna - You are always one step ahead of me . . . I wish you lived closer!

Hi Maragaret, nothing beats a catchy title to get people to read a post. Well done! Very informative and the photos show precisely why someone would stage.

Margaret - I so wanted to feature this in the group Staging Before & After photos!  If you could add it to that group as well, that would be great.

By the way, your photos are awesome as is your staging.

Melissa - Don't we love clients that listen!  These photos were taken w/a Kodak Easy Share V570 and spiffed up with picnik!

Carole - No one wants to look at someone elses messes (or our own)!  Yes - the sellers and realtor are really pleased!

Chrissie -- Thanks so much -- it was really a fun job!

Sherry - The next time you get a house like that fly me out -- we could have a blast getting it to the "after"!

Vivian - You're right - no one wants to have buyers passing by their homes in this market -- price and presentation go hand in hand!

Patsy - You'll do wonderfully I'm sure!  The good news is you know all the tips and tricks so it will be easier!

Jacqueline - Thanks for reading - glad to give you a laugh!

Andrew - Well it wasn't a joke . . . it's really there and quite new construction.  Guess if I want to plug in my tv over the tub?  (I'm at a loss of why!)

Cindy -- I guess it gives us job security!  As long as I dont have to live in chaos I'm happy!

Nothing like having a hairdryer plugged in just above the tub to add charm to the photo.  Your after shots are fabulous.  I love your April Fool's strategy in this post, too!

The scary thing is that there are sellers (and agents) who believe the captions that you have on your "Before" pictures... and then they wonder why their homes sit on the market!

Great transformation and after photos!

So I am reading this several days AFTER April 1st, and thinking "Oh MY! Something has REALLY discouraged Margaret, to be so sarcastic about our business...somebody must have really gotten under her skin to have her say these things...."  GREAT POST, GREAT JOKE!

Oh how I wish more agents would read this post!  Nicely done.  The post and the staging are fabulous.  Sometimes a little sarcasm goes  a long way.
