Starting a Property Management Company

I currently run a sucessful Realtor Assisting company in Michigan and am wanting to expand into Property Management.  I have done alot of research and have found ALOT of useful information.  Before I spend hundreds of dollars in advertising costs I would like to get some more input from the professionals who have been doing property management for a few years.  Any information you have would be much appreciated.

Has anybody used Craigslist postings to find clients?  If so how was your turn out? What about drive by "For Rent" signs and calling the landlord?

Please advise.

Thank you in advance.

Actually- I alot of the same questions. I will look forward to your answers. I do know folks who use craig's list in this way and it seem to be a good FREE way to help generate business.

Yes, you can use Craigs list to help grow your businessa nd also to advertise properties once you get them.  My com'any currently managers over 450 rentals, and in our area we use Craigs list to post listings and also to get new rentals.

Becoming a member of NAPRM is also a good thing to do if you waat to do property managment. ANd having a good website, feel free to check mine out at http:///pamkeen.com
