Non Supporting Role for Real Estate

By
Real Estate Agent with Prestige Properties

As Realtors we often see the partners programs and receive information on the "Official" whatever for The NAR.  I am here to tell you , in my experience, one is definitely lacking!

And the offender is, PITNEY BOWES!  I have a mail station from Pitney Bowes, you know, supposed to make postage cheaper and quicker.  It has been a six month nightmare.  The machine never works right, the billing is confusing at best, calling customer service takes forever, and it is actually expensive.  I pay $21.35 just to have this little machine in my office.  Now how is that cheaper than stopping by the post office which is right beside the bank where I make deposits everyday?

Anyway, does anybody else use a Pitney Bowes machine?  I would like to hear about it before I throw this through the nearest PB office window.

Thanks

Three words for you:  BULK MAIL PERMIT

if you are doing enough mailings use a bulk mail imprint and otherwise use stamps.  I can put a roll of stamps on faster than any pitney machine that you get for $20 a month.

Todd; And "they" say direct mail is not effective. I'm guessing you responded to a postcard, probably not imprinted on one of those machines but by bulk mail permit.

Why not use Dymo stamps -- you only pay for what you use -- and it works every time perfectly.

Who says direct mail is not effective?  Years ago I had one and had the same issues.  Recently I tried Stamps.com and got roped into this ridiculous auto billing.  I didn't use it enough to justify the monthly cost, but its definitely less than the machine that you mention.

Thanks Kate,

I was wondering if other people had issues similar to mine or if I was the only one.  It's not that $21.00 a month will make or break me but the hassle and aggravation are ridiculous.

Todd,

I agree with Patrick. I do a lot of mailing and it's always bulk.
