Orange Park Country Club (formal name is Country Club of Orange Park) in Orange Park, Florida is a guard-gated community located off Blanding Boulevard a few miles south of I-295. The community was originally developed by Stokes Land Group, a well-known Jacksonville developer who developed many other communities including Marsh Landing Country Club in Ponte Vedra and destination communities at Amelia Island. In 1993, a British company, Taylor Woodrow, purchased Orange Park Country Club and finished the development. The Country Club joins Loch Rane which was developed in the 1970s and is a community of homes on estate lots with majestic oak trees.
630 homes are spread over 800+ acres. Among the builders are local master custom builders Sid Higginbotham, Barry Poimboeuf, Gary McCumber (brother of golfer Mark McCumber) and British builder/developer Taylor Woodrow. Home sizes range from 1800 sq. ft. to over 5000 sq. ft.
Orange Park Country Club offers residents a beautiful quiet setting with abundant wildlife. The Duval Audubon Society owns over 400 acres to the north. Hundreds of acres of agricultural land to the west are owned by the Spencer family who sold acreage to Stokes Land Group to develop the golf community.
Residents enjoy country club living centered around an 18-hole golf course designed by Bobby Miller that was renovated in 2002 by Charles Raulerson, former PGA Tour Professional and General Manager of the Club. The very active Tennis team plays on 10 Har-Tru clay courts. The Fitness Center has state of the art cardiovascular equipment and offers classes. Rounding out the amenities are the junior Olympic swimming pool and shallow kiddie pool with cabana area.
Club dining includes a formal dining room and casual dining in the 19th Hole grill and lounge. The dining room seats over 200 people and is a favorite location for weddings and parties for Orange Park families. A monthly newsletter is distributed. The formal dining room is open Wednesday-Friday (Saturdays are reserved for private parties), open for lunch daily and brunch on the weekend. The grill and lounge are open daily.
See the website for membership and event information.
Guard-gated communities offer privacy and peace from busy city life outside the gates. Orange Park Country Club is no exception. Winding roads enhanced by oaks, golf course, preserve and ponds run through the community. Residents can lead a quiet life or participate in the many social activities available. According to the website, there is never a lack of social events to attend.
