Grand View Wolfeboro New Hampshire

Wolfeboro, America's Oldest Summer Resort, is on the eastern shores of Lake Winnipesaukee and is less than 2 hours drive north of Boston. The town was originally spelled Wolfeborough which can still be seen on the historical train station downtown. The town was named in honor of English General James Wolfe who had been victorious in the French and Indian War. Colonial Governor John Wentworth chose to summer here on the shores of Lake Wentworth in 1771 which established Wolfeboro as oldest summer resort in America. The town was settled in 1768 and incorporated in 1770. The town includes the villages of Wolfeboro Falls and North Wolfeboro, and the population of the town is about 6,000.

Wolfeboro offers many amenities in a rural and beautiful setting. There are two lakes, miles of scenic views, a world class private school, Brewster Academy, Huggin's Hospital, an 18 hole golf course, museums, year-round top quality concerts, quaint village shops, and wonderful restaurants.

Housing styles in Wolfeboro are varied from 18th century colonials and New England capes, to modern lake front homes of stunning beauty. There is something for everyone's taste. Even with all the diversity available in this community there is the common thread among all who live here: a true community spirit to protect and cherish this wonderful place called home on Lake Winnipesaukee.
