Katonah NY is an unincorporated hamlet of Bedford NY in Westchester County.

Katonah NY is located about 45 miles north of New York City and has a population of 10,000 people. The Metro North Katonah Train station is right in the middle of town and is a popular commuting residence. Katonah has become a very affluent and popular place to live.

Katonah NY was named after the Indian chief, Chief Katonah. Chief Katonah had sold the land of Bedford to New England Puritans in 1680. The railroad pushed up north in 1847 and the village began to prosper in the manufacturing and farming industries. In 1897, the residents moved to the current village after the Cross River Reservoir was built.

Katonah NY has become one of the most sought after places to live in the United States. Katonah is also known for its strong public school system Katonah is home to the Katonah Museum of Arts, Caramoor International Music Festival, John Jay Homestead Historic Site and Muscoot Farm.

Many well known people have chosen Katonah to be their home including Martha Stewart, Ralph Lauren and Stanley Tucci.
