Mount Kisco is about 50 miles north of New York City and has its own Metro North train station along with easy access to I-684 and the Saw Mill River Parkway. About 10,000 people reside in its 3.1 square miles of land. Mount Kisco NY was incorporated in 1875 as a village and in 1978 became a town. The name Mount Kisco was given by an Algonquin tribe and means “edge of creekland.” Today, Mount Kisco is seen as a quaint, town and an escape from New York City. It is also the commercial hub of Northern Westchester County, having an A&P and Targetstore.
Mount Kisco also has its own hospital and health care facilities. Some famous residents of Mount Kisco include Bruce Jenner, Susan Dey and Bennett Cerf.
