Seattle, Washington always had a legendary rock history. Jimi Hendrix was born there. The members of Queensryche still call it home. But, in the 1990s, Seattle just exploded with the grunge scene. Bands like Pearl Jam, Nirvana and Alice Chains put Seattle on the map, and soon music afficionados were adding the city to all their trip planning activities.
While the music scene is amazing, there's more to this very populated city. It has been called one of the most literate cities in the country. Two of the most recognizable landmarks in Seattle are the Space Needle from the Century 21 Exposition in the 1960s and the Smith Tower built in 1914.
Seattle is often known as the city of neighborhoods because the city is basically comprised of individual neighborhoods, where you can also score some affordable vacation homes as well! So, grab some Freddy Krueger shirts, pull on the boots and get rocking to Seattle.
