I think I get it!

Being a neophyte (?) in blogging I finally have started to read a few. As I've discoved a long time ago, you don't learn anything when you're doing the talking, it's only when you are listening, or in this case reading, that you can really find anything meaningful that you didn't already know. So, first of all, thanks to all you bloggers. One thing I've learned is that a lot of folks are trying to sell something in their blogs. I don't feel that is making good use of the space. So, I'll start by asking a question. How important is a good website to your business? I mean, does it really bring new business to you, or is it mainly a place that your current clients can go for information? Love to know the answers.  Thanks  Myke ( I don't sell websites, if that's what you're thinking)

Hi Myke, I'll bite. My website is NOT a source to get business. I'm strictly a listing broker and use my website to direct my potential sellers to. However, I do get quite a bit of business from my blog on AR. I've found that a website is more  for buyers than sellers. A blog though can be very good for attracting sellers. At least mine has been.

Myke-  I have a website through my company...I haven't gotten any leads from it at all.  I have gotten leads from Active Rain.

My website has been bringing me business for about 20 years, and my blogs for the more recent times. Content is king.
