The Woodland Park Saddle Club is moving to Divide Colorado. The Divide Chamber of Commerce will hold a public meeting
Wed. April 8th at 6p.m. at Killday's Deli which is behind Venture foods in Divide. The Woodland Park Saddle club has recently acquired 35 acres in Divide. Current plans envision a facility including a massive indoor arena, an outdoor arena with lights and a speaker system, a clubhouse that may eventually serve alcohol, holding pens, hay storage areas, parking areas and an eventual residence for a caretaker.
The move is prompted by the desire of the saddle club to build an event center which will bring hundreds of people to local livestock, horse and rodeo events. I image some music will also eventually filter into the all season venue. Previously, the saddle club was located in the middle of Woodland Park at the Old Railway Station stop. Due to that land being acquired by the Downtown Development Authority of Woodland Park, the Saddle Club was moved to a 23 acre location next to the new Walmart. The reason for not placing the saddle club at this location is a local issue. But, for whatever reason they have decided I think it is a smart move to take this Equestrian endeavor back to the country side.
If you are a local don't miss this meeting.
