Is It About Money Or Control?

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Daytona Condo Realty, 386-405-4408

BankBank of America wants to return $45 Billion of our money back to the government. TARP moneyt that is. Part of $198 Billion.

After seeing the government firing the CEO, interfering with valid and legal contracts... they thought that they do not want the goverment in their bedroom.

Well, great news, the money goes back.

Well, it actually does not go back. The government does not allow the return of the money.

Which brings us to this question: Is it about the money or about control?

I have to say it is about control and the type of control we need to get our country back in line after so many years of deregulation.  Everyone needs to be access by the job they did and the banks failed.

Just think how the Obama administration can influence which industries will and won't get loans to expand their businesses when they have such control over the financial sector.....hmmm...let's see Mr. Smith, you need a loan to expand? Well, first, you must unionize your workers, then you must buy these carbon credits I have here, and let me check my list....no sir, I don't see your name on my campaign contribution list.  Come back again in six months, we'll try again....

Matt - and what are those?

Katerina - I actually do not find that much difference between fascism and socialism. Not in terms of the mechanism and the character of the oppression. Historically fascism had more subjects of other countries as victims, while victims of socialism were their own citizens, it was pretty much the same system of oppression

Richard - but when they want to return, why not take it? It was what we all expected, the money used and then made and returned. Forcing them to hold the money to be able to control their operation goes too far. It is like not allow you to pay off your mortgage in full so that they can kick you out of your house at any time they want. Is that what we want?

Jesse - I am scared that you might be right

Fernando - You see it as socialism. I hear you

Richard - Can we force them to stop that BS, take the money and get lost? Do we have a moral obligation to tell it to our elected officials to demad that businesses be allowed to pay off their debt with no strings attached?

Nicholas - we find ourselves hijacked, and the President is wuining the country at a pace unprecedented. We may be screaming our lungs out, he is changing the country. This president will enter history as the most destructive president in the US history

Lenn - we should do something to stop eroding what this country is built upon. At least make our voices heard.

Bill - we always thought that if you do not like it here you can go there. Now it all is changed. Who do not like it here, will bring it here. Quite a different turn of events.

Mike - it never starts with military force, but it always follows. Whther justified for the benefit of the majority, or for any other worthy or partiotic cause. But first you make a "soft" attack. The military is always an option.

Hugh - "Obama is an idealogue,It is all about his vision". Yes, he personal vision. And he can't care less about everybody else.

William - and that is why I am scared. After living here i the United States for nearly 18 years I got relaxed. I did not think I will hear familiar tunes right here in the United States of America.  directions, the aspirations are very frightening

Donald - for me these are huge steps backwards. Not only we are trying to please Europe, we are turning our wheels back. Scary.

Victoria - do not fool yourself. The mess we have came not from the lack of regulation, on the opposite. It started with Clinton. Keeping being naive is nice but fruitless. But my question to you is not regulation, which is so dear to your heart. The question is why the government does not  take back our money instead of buying the control of private enterprise? It is the same like not letting you pay the last $1,000 of your mortgage and have the right to control you. How happy would you be with that?

Susan - how come so many people do not understand and see that. They have the eyes and ears, so the see and hear. Why their brain does not process the sound and pictures into the knowledge and understanding? Why so many do not get it?

Katerina is exactly right. And don't forget......The Fascists took over Germany through a non-violent political takeover. The violence came later.

Trey- This is how it started in Germany. The banks were failing. The German government went in to nationalize the banks. The banks took the bait. They took their version of the TARP money. When they had realized what they had done and the implications thereof- it was too late. They went to give the money back, and guess what! The government would not allow them to! Hmmmm, study history.

It amazes me how so few people here have studied history. Of course, part of it is that our school system is full of socialistic humanistic books and curriculum that denies the truth of history.

Lenn- You are right, POWER. I think I was looking at Power and Control as the same thing.

Susan- That was a good one, sad but so true!

Let's do whatever we can to keep the term limits in place. We also need term limits in congress.

Trey - it is usually a takeover. In Germany it had all the markings of a democratic process. Then started tightening the system each time so not to cause the revolt. It always worked. It is a very successful system how  you can change people and make good people cowards and villans.

Katerina - actually Germany did what Obama is doing with the financial system now. And it didn't work. So they fell into a hyper-inflation, and they only way out was the war. Putting the economy into a war gear got the crisis under control. And we all now what happened to that financial experiment, that started a decade earlier.

What will Obama do when the money start turning paper? Fight China? Or Russia?

It sounds to me like it must be about control, especially if the government won't allow the funds to be returned.

It's about the money.  BAC wants to give the money back so they don't have to follow TARP rules.  They don't want to lose talented workers today who can go to a non-bailed-out bank and make 10X the money.  After Bank of America loses these "valuable" people, they will have a brain drain and won't be able to do as "well" as they have in the past.  If I was running the company, I'd fire them all and try to start over.  These "valuable" people almost bankrupted the company!

I am not getting it. The government gives our money out, and refuses to take it back. That's the money part.  Trying to force the private enterprise to do what they want is a control part.

Our take and our wishes to fire or hire has no relevance to it. Why is not the questin. We, unfortunately, see why. How dare would have been a better question, IMO
