Topic: Understanding
Scripture: The Son of Man indeed goes, as it is written of him,
but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed.
It would be better for that man if he had never been born."
(Matthew 26:24)
Observation: He is talking about Judas here, but far be it from me to assume that my sinful nature is any less tasteful to Jesus than Judas' trying to force Jesus' into being who he wanted him to be or do what he expected him to do.
Application: I am counting on the grace of God to save me from my sinfulness, so that at the end of each day Jesus is not saying these words about me. I don't want to be like Judas and expect Jesus to be what I want him to be or do what I expect him to do..
Prayer: Lord, I need your help to save me from myself at all times, for without your grace, I am nothing. Not my will be done, but your will be done. In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
