Services for Real Estate Pros with The Emporium Your Home for Elegant Resale

Having posted this as a comment many times, I thought it may reach more if I blog it.  I believe with my heart, that if HS's and RD's should start targeting and focusing more on he consumer to educate and win them over, the R E Agents and Home Trade professional's "WILL" follow. 

It is the consumer that drives every market into success or failure.  All HS 's and RD's would benefit expotentially by focusing more toward this end than to become frustrated that the R E Agents are not as on board, as many would like.  They are in fact driven by the consumer. I say, "win over the consumer" and your businesses will begin to grow.  Just my constant belief added as food for thought.  What do you think?  A friend in NH.

Clarification: HS=Home Stagers; RD= Redesigners.  Sorry for causing confusion.

Hard to target home sellers -- what method are you recommending?

We provide seminars and classes at local furniture and paint stores, however - most beneficial for us is training real estate agents to understand how staging can benefit them -- and allowing us to educate their sellers if they are not successful in doing so.

Karen, I agree that home owners are someone we should be talking to. We just got another call from a woman who wants us to stage her home; no mention of a Realtor. And today we (my staging partner and I) are talking to a home association ladies group about staging and redesign. It's a retirement community, so there probably won't be a Realtor in sight!

While it is important to partner with Realtors...sellers are "getting it" and calling us, too. This should be something that Realtors pay attention to: sellers want us! You need to offer our services as part of your marketing plan. If you don't, someone else will.

I think it is actually two fold. First I think that the consumer is the ultimate decision maker. Unfortunately sometimes a realtor will make the descision not to include staging without consulting the consumer. So it is very important that the realtors understand that it is important and that they present the idea to thier clients. The second part is that we as stagers need to meet with the clients and realtors directly to propery market our product. I've given out a few proposals just through the agent and when I followed up the agent said that the client wasn't interested. Because I failed to take the initiative to set an appointment to present the proposal personally I have no idea how my proposal was presented and secondly had no way to try to overcome the objections.

As far as marketing to clients, I am just about to start targeting homeowners directly of houses that have been on the mls longer than 180 days and am looking to do seminars to potential home sellers.

It's alot of work, but nobody said it was going to be easy.

Very well said, " It is the consumer that drives every market into success or failure"...I hope that we can find ways to connect with homeowners, more effectively than many of us have found in trying to connect with Realtors.
