Owner/Agents, You Should Know How Important It Is To Let Agents Show Your Home! What Is Wrong With You?

Real Estate Agent with Oakstone Properties, Homes in Richmond VA

I can understand if your daughter's wedding is in the backyard or your son's birthday party is happening at the same time that I am trying to show your house, in that case, I will schedule another showing.  How on earth is an owner/agent going to tell me this because he will not be home and can't put his dog up (not out of town, just at work in town)?  I was told this today when I tried to schedule a showing for tomorrow afternoon.  To all the sellers out there that don't understand how important it is to give easy access to your home when it is listed, you need to wake up, or smack your agent if they have not told you.  To any agent out there that doesn't understand how important it is, you might want to smack yourself or find a new career.

Just venting a little.  I know that some things cannot be avoided.  I wish all of you the best.

I think there is a lot of negligance sometimes when agents have other jobs and dont even know we are trying to show the house. I have waited weeks to find out about a showing even calling the broker and getting absolutely no response. Thats just ridiculous.

Nate, this speaks to motivation. Owner/agents or other Sellers who do not make their homes easily available to show should not wonder why their homes do not sell. With so many homes on the market, agents and their buyers will just  move on, "Next!"~ Sharon

Isn't it funny how we stay on our sellers to ensure that we can schedule showings as quickly and easily as possible but owner/agents forget that little tidbit?  The main thing sellers need to remember is this:

The more showings, the better our chances of getting that property sold quickly!

Having your home listed for sale is no fun.  It must be kept in showing condition at all times and you must make it availabe to be shown any time.

We need to counsel our seller better about having their home available for showings.  In a slower market we need all the showings we can get, and most sellers will be accommodating.

Nate, I have a seller that NEEDS notice. Let's not get into details, but if you can't schedule showings in advance it's often a looky-loo in the car.

Too many homes on the market.  If you can not get an appointment to show, its on to the next one.

"Hi Nate!  I'm a home owner and I want you to sell my house.  I want top dollar.  I want great terms.  I want it sold fast.  Oh and by the way, I don't want to be inconvenienced by having to accommodate showings...."
