Managing family life/disaster

By
Real Estate Agent

Unfortunately this week my son was involved in an automobile accident and was hurt but will recover fully. Staples in his head to sticth together a 4" gash, brused legs, arms and most everything else. We were very lucky that everyone walked away from the accident. Over the past week I have had to deal with the insurance company, autobody shop, other parents, health isurance company, police department, towing company. My son had installed many aftermarket parts on the car which needed to be removed in case they total the car so I played mechanic for several hours. And through all this I new I could count on my office to cover my listings and be there to assist me in any way I needed help. So thank you all at Ogunquit Sunrise Properties.

OMG... I pray for your son's swift and safe recovery.

It's a blessing to know that you have a team that has your back in situations like this. Stay strong.

Wishing your son the best - it is so great that you could walk away and take care of your most valuable asset - your child.  I have a 19 year old son who plays college football and still pray when he gets in his Avalanche.

If all offices would work as a team, everyone benefits - the buyers and sellers appreciate that someone still took care of them and will remember and refer business back to the office.  This has to start with the person who answers to phone and go all the way to the Broker themselves.

As a Broker/Owner I commend your Broker and your associates.  Brokers lead by example.

Bill--Now you know that your broker is the right place for you--That kind of support in a time of crisis is exactly what someone needs from a company!

Thank goodness your son will be ok! Cars and stuff can be replaced but not your son!

Bill- We'll have your son in our prayers in my house, and I am glad to hear that he will be okay.  But, even when things like this happen, it gives us an opportunity to look at this great trade and just say, "I love my job."  Not everyone would have the time you had this week to just hunker down and do what your family needs.  Way to be there, Bill.  I'm sure your family appreciates it more than they can ever tell you.

Hi Bill,

Thank you for sharing, glad to hear your son and others will fully recover. It'a amazing how lives can change in just a moment of time. Right now we're going through a difficult time in our family, yet getting through it daily,...so I know how things can change with a phone call.

Glad to hear you're in such a great office, sounds to me like it's the right place for you. I have a similar situation. It's interesting that so many agents think the amount to their split is the top priority and may not realize that personal support at times like yours can be priceless.

My best to you and your family.

Bill, just checking in  to see how your son is recovering. After you wrote this, my daughter was in a terrible car wreck too. I post it under Allyssa's car wreck if you want to read.

I too am dealing with a child with broker pelvic and a hospital stay of 15 days, and a long recovery.
