By
Title Insurance with First American Title

Every Realtor or Lender knows that they need to prospect for business. With all the technology, new methods have developed but there is still no replacement for contacting potential buyers and sellers consistantly as part of a good business plan.

Did you know that a Title & Escrow company like First American can be one of your most valuable business partners to a successful business?

Many people do not know that we do far more than pull "Trios" from Customer Service. We encourage our customers to have a confidential meeting with our Customer Service Manager to help taylor their prospecting "Farming" and learn how to utilize all of the free resources we have. This is especially helpful if you are new or need some help getting out of a slump!

Here are just some of the things you can expect as part of our Customer Service:

~  Specialty types of "farms" by Area, First Time Homeowner, School District, Fixers, Historical Neighborhoods, and many more.

~ Comparable Sales Information - Includes all recorded sales, so you get a complete picture of the market, not just what is available in MLS.

~  And so much more! Subdivision Maps & Sales Information, CCR's, Mailing Addresses, Owner Occupied, Absentee Owners, Investors, Out of State property owners, just to name a few.

Let us help you build your business in 2009!

Connie, I have been a customer of First American for years. I have been trying to find out what they can do to help me with short sales.  Do ya'll offer Notice of Default lists? Or even better pre-NOD lists? My rep doesn't have the answer to this question.

Bryant, thanks for being a loyal customer! Every state has it's own Rules & Regs for what they can provide to their customers. We have NOD's posted to our local site here for our customers. We worked with our website provider to post them. You might have your local rep check with their website provider to see if this is something they can do. Loved the "ya'll" ~ I lived in Pensecola in a previous life! What a beautiful state!

First American is one of the firms we use here in Arizona. The marketing rep position in the area was discontinued. The gal used to provide a lot of things -- there is now another rep we found on the other side of town with the firm who has been helpful.

Please fill me in. Are you saying that First American will provide these types of lists to Realtors?

Good morning, Sharon. Each state has it's own rules on what they can provide as a free service to our customers. Here in Oregon we can give our customers all that I mentioned and more. Check with your First American rep and ask them what they can do to help you build your business. Our customer service manager regularly makes appointments with customers to show them what kind of data they can get and how to use the information. I usually will work with them during this process and coach them in ways to effectively prospect.

Take advantage of them now while you can -- here in California, SB133 was passed into law the first of the year and Title Companies can not provide this information any longer.  The Department of Insurance has determined this to be of value when given to agents and is no longer approved or possible to do.
