Kinnelon Borough is a fabulous, bucolic "low density " community in Morris County and it is located about 7 miles west of Wayne, New Jersey. The town has wonderful parks, nature trails and rolling hills with many beautiful upscale neighborhoods situated around the many lakes and parks in the area affording a close proximity to New York City ( within 30 miles ).
The town's largest lake, Lake Kinnelon, is in the center of the private, gated community of Smoke Rise. The town also features shopping and offers the convenience of routes 23, 46, 287, near route 208 and offers a midpoint between NYC and western NJ and Pennsylvania. Recently, new area shopping centers including such big name stores as LOWES, HOME DEPO, Bed, Bath & Beyond, TARGET, WalMart & Borders have all moved into the area on Route 23 offering area residence even more convenience. Kinnelon is located within 10 minutes of Mahwah and Bergen County, too.
One of the area's living highlights includes a relatively NEW Active Adult Community called KINNELON Heights. This unique development is located off route 23, Kinnelon Road to Maple Avenue offers residents a gated community, terrific floor plans and one floor living with 2 bedrooms & 2 baths and a few even offer garages.
