Sometimes You Need A Little Color - Staged to Live

By
Home Stager with Shaping Spaces Group

Here is a home I "Staged to Live" for a fun family with two great little girls. Normally I would not use such a vibrant color, but in this case I suggested using a contrasting color to make there cute pink, red, and orange accessories POP. The mom thought it was a refreshing spin to a girls room without doing the typical pink or lavender theme. I enjoyed bringing the room to life with a fresh lime green they can grow into.

I love the vibrant pops of color and I agree with you. I probably wouldn't do this for a Staged to Sell property. But how great for a redesign. It's definitely not as cutsy as a pink and lavender girls' room. I love the double dresser idea as well that you used to separate the space differently than before.

That was absolutely the right color choice for that room, Tanya.  It now looks like a picture from a magazine.  Excellent job!

What a perfect color choice for this room, Tanya!  I shared a room with my sister during our elementary school years, but ours was about half the size (and not nearly as beautfiul) as this room.

Tanya - that's the first law of the color wheel - opposites attract! The green really compliments the reds and orange in the room.

Great choice and good reminder of how color can pull all the pieces of the room together.

What a cheery room you gave these girls...good they can agree on their respective sides of the room, my sisters and I shared and we'd have had to have different colors on each side...hum...

Tanya, the room looks great! The room has much more personality now for sure! I like the color you chose. It would be great too if you were allowed to paint the two brown dressers white. Changing the layout and a simple coat of paint makes a huge difference! Thanks for showing everyone that it doesn't have to cost a lot of money or be complicated to redesign a room. :)

I'd LOVE to do a job like this!..  I get so tired of hearing my own voice saying to clients.." You really need to paint all the rooms in neutral colors when your house is being prepared for the market.."

Miracle of miracles,, some people want COLOR in their homes !!... AFTER they move in of course... : )
