When I first joined the Active Rain community of peers, I quickly figured out that I was in for an enjoyable life changing experience! I also knew that to have something to 'say' in this sea that my voice was going to have to learn the language of the participants.
I started out reading, commenting and eventually posting, starting groups, entering contests etc... I have made friends, sent & received referrals, even changed offices from contacts in this cyber world.
I have noticed that our 'best kept secret' is now being kept by over 140,000! There is always room for one more. On Active Rain there is tool called the re-blog. Perfect for when you are having writers block or find a great article you want to share.
I have always looked at my blogs as a way to document a glimpse of what I am interested in on a particular moment in time. I found my introduction to my quilt blog group and had to snicker at the date and time stamp. (as a disclaimer- I don't remember where I typed this post from- but I hope it was 'floor time' ! Wonder if I will write my next real estate article during a quilt class or retreat)
I am CRAZY about Real Estate and just as I was looking for a quilt community (www.myquiltblog.com) I thrilled to report that my writing skills are improving in both cyber-worlds. I just need to remember, am I a REALTOR who quilts or a Quilter who buys/sells Real Estate?

I am very excited to have found a place to meet and greet others who share a passion for all
things fabric. I am a scrap-aholic and love to see what others are doing with their stash.
Quick version is I am looking for a community that will let me be me and not judge if the
seam allowance is a little off. I have just started reading the other posts so please give me
awhile to get to know you. I wear a lot of hats during the day and think it will be good for me
to get to hang with my creative side every now and then.
I am living/working in SW Missouri, my quilting career is mostly in my head. I love to sew &
teach but have done so only on an armature level. I did get to teach a class in Mito, Japan
(only b/c we were visiting the church there and you know how church ladies are---) I say I
have taught internationally- then I laugh. I have produced about a dozen booklets on
projects that our local group has done. Nothing to sell, just little brags. I personally like to
see the story behind the group/project and get a couple of pictures. Our church group use to
write an essay on each of the quilts we did and I would assemble the writings into a booklet.
One of these days maybe my girls will do something with them. I have had a couple of quilts
make it to the mag. level but only as 'look at what we dids', never as the feature designer.
Quilting has been a Hobby for many years and I love to share the ideas I learn from others. I
am looking forward to getting to explore this side of my life. Happy Sewing- cw
All things grow with the RAIN- I hope to share more of my creative side with my peers and readers--if you share a kindred heart when it come to reporting on events in and around that are crafty, feel free to post to my quilters group. We would love to have you.
