Tea for...12 million and counting

Reblogger Dinah Lee Griffey

I wanted to pass this post along to all of you who wondered how the Tea Party went. It was a great success. I think we will see even more in the month to come!

Original content by Kevin Robinson

For once the protesters had jobs. For once the protesters were dressed in actual clothing not some kind of dirty retro hemp robes. For once the protesters did not sing Kumbya. For once the protesters did not throw things at the police. Conservatives at a protest? Something new?

Whenever you read about any type of protest in this country it is always populated by the leftists. They love a good protest. I think that in actuality, many of them are hoping the The Grateful Dead will be playing at the protest or that someone will be giving away free money.

Conservatives are getting madder by the day about our new leaders out of control spending. The answer to every problem seems to be "spend more money". Yeah, we all know that President Bush spent like a drunken sailor. And for 8 years we were told by libs that he was spending way too much. Most of us conservatives did not like his spending and spoke up about it. Now our leader has quadrupled the national debt. Nice answer to a problem. Hey we owe 1 trillion dollars that we can't pay. Yeah we are mad about it but lets go ahead and increase it to 4 trillion. What a great business mind the man must have.  Of course, to the folks that solve every problem that way, the money they spend is not theirs. The sentiment out there in this country is anger and it is growing.

Just the fact that people with jobs had to take time off work to go and protest is big news. Add to that the fact that protest has always been the domain of liberals and leftists. This has got to be tough for the libs. I have noticed that many of them are trying to spin the Tea Party protests as something put on by some big evil corporations (as if corporations are populated by non-people or something). I even read an article that tried to convince it's readers that "this can't be a real Tea Party, for a real Tea Party has to do with taxation without representation". Go ahead you big govt loving libs and keep on trying to convince yourselves of that.

Even worse news for a lot of hard core lefties is that many of the Tea Parties were attended by loads of Democrats. Dems who probably voted for our new leader and now have realized that he is a sham. His hope and change equals no hope and no change coming back.

Dinah, that is a total slap in the face to everyone in this country that has previously participated on one protest or another.  I frickin work, and so do the hundreds of thousands of people (a lot more than turned out yesterday) that have been protesting war for the past forty years.  I'm surprise that you would approve of that rhetoric.  The only thing missing was the word "ghetto."

BTW Dinah my outrage continues when I remember the thousands of active duty military personnel and veterans who have attended those anti-war protests.  How dare anyone question them?

Gee Dinah, with all due respect, I guess you didn't notice that lots of the anarchists at the tea parties were retirees that DO NOT WORK.  Many others were OUT OF WORK thanks to your boy george and the right wing nuts that spent this country into debtor nation status.

You need to go back to school to study Keynsian economics to understand what the current administration is doing in terms of stimulus spending but I doubt you would ever try to understand.  You obviously get your opinions and backward thinking from the ditto heads and faux news which somehow excuses you from thinking for yourself.

I didn't see a single republican leader at any of the so called tea parties. oh I forgot, they have none.  Concervative ideologues are so silly, they still think they're relevant.

I'm just sayin...

Scott, Depending on which side you want to believe we are looking at either tens of thousands or two million. To the best i can figure out having visited alot of different sites and figuring the truth is somewhere in the middle on all of them I believe there were probablly somewhere between 250,000 and 750,000. I know thats still a prety large range but considering it was raining and cold in alot of those places(my state included) I think it is probably an accurate range. Either way for  a midweek gathering I think it may not be politically expedient for so many politicians to be just dismissing it.Many people drove by these tea parties and saw the crowds, to be told they didn't happen will probably just add more people to the ranks next time. For our president to not even acknowledge it I do not think was a good political move. Of course that makes me happy but even from an unbiased stance I think he should have at least acknowledged them

Hugh, which places were you visiting to get those inflated numbers?  FIX noise.com?  Still, even the high end which is really hard to believe is a minuscule fraction of the tax paying public.

Terry your own numbers would support this estimate but I really dont expect a rational argument from you. But lets say for a second they only went on in the 11 states you wrote about and there were only those 63,000, you still dont think the president should have acknoledged them? I,m glad arrogance like that will defeat your agenda sooner than later.

Anarchists? It seems to me someone has no clue what anarchist really means. But it sure probably felt good making that ad hominem attack.

And so many who tout Keynesian economics only like the one half of it, the increased spending and increase government, and oh yeah, the increased taxation. What this administration is proposing, and getting, is Keynesian economics on steroids, which will result in the same ultimate collapse that excessive steroid useage does. Keynesian ecomonics is an economic "negative feedback" circuit, with it's primary intent to effectively result in an economy looking somewhat like a low amplitude sine wave. That includes all aspects of the economy, including the national debt. Keynesian deficit spending is to be balanced by deficit elimination. Everything that has taken place and is currently being proposed will result in an increased deficit. If you are going to implement Keynesian policy, at least try to adopt the whole model.

Hugh, the hundreds of thousands are not my numbers.  But then even if the numbers were exposed during the resurrection you wouldn't believe them.
