Sarah's Meme II, The Return of the Meme

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Real Estate Shows

Sarah and CatMemes are going around again!  "WooHoo" Sally Cheeseman hit me with one so now I have to come up with five (semi-interesting) little tidbits you might not have known about me.  (If you missed hers, you can find it here.)

These are SO HARD.  But here I go!

  1. I just started blogging on Jeff Turner's Real Estate Shows Blog and Home Staging Shows Blog.  If you've read much of my blog here on AR, you know I'm a HUGE fan of RES.  This is actually kind of a natural thing for me.  Now I don't have to limit my raving to Active Rain!  :o)  (And isn't Jeff brave?!)
  2. I love Newbies!  I help train new people at work with their websites and so on, and I really like it.  I get paid nothing but usually end up with another Realtor buddy who knows they can trust me.  That's a pretty big payoff to me!
  3. My "Newbie Love" extends to my personal life, too.  A lot of my friends are Japanese women here for a few years for their husbands' jobs.  It's hard to have friends leaving all the time, but it's also a lot of fun to help people feel comfortable and confident about living here.  I learn a lot from them and someday when I visit Japan, I'll have a lot of people to visit.
  4. I love spicy food.  My Little One does, too!  In fact, when I was pregnant with her one of my favorite things was zesty hot french fries with Tobasco sauce instead of ketchup.  That's a little too hot for me now, but at the time it was goooood!
  5. I've set a goal for myself to take my kids to see the ocean.  We tend to take cheap vacations to one set of Grandparents or another and never really invest in a vacation just for US.  But Tall One is crazy about sea life and would love to be a marine biologist someday.  (How a West Virginia kid got this idea, I don't know.)  She's gotten encouragement in the form of whale pictures from Lysa Napolitano and I got a call from Nick M. that he wants to be there the first time she sees the ocean.  We've had invitations to Florida from Maggie Dokic and Ines Hegedus-Garcia.  Tall One's post got a great response and she feels she has many friends there.  We're trying to decide if we want to go to Florida or the Bahamas or what, but I'll try to work in a stop in FL if I'm going to be that close anyway!  We're shooting for next year as my husband's vacation is booked for this summer already.  Now to step up my real estate so I can afford this ...

Whew!  Second Meme DONE!!  Now I get the payoff, I get to "tag" three other people and make them go through this.  :o)

Let's have some guys work on this, too!  How about Ed Rybczynski, Sean Hashimoto, Phill Cross and Lucky Lang.  (Were you counting?  That's four, not three -- but isn't more better than less?)  Write up five things about yourself that we might not know, post it in the Meme Group and tag three other people to do it next.  (NOT ME!!)  Enjoy!

Sally - Numbering mine was the best way to keep track and know when I was DONE!  *Whew!*  You like that cat?  We grow 'em big around here!

Phill - Sorry!  But look, a second Meme is not THAT bad.  If it get hit with a third I might have to pass!

Dan - That's kind of the plan, if I can work it out.  We went on one cruise BK (Before Kids) and left out of Miami, so that would work out well if we could do something like that again.

Neal - Why not?  Got to ramp up my real estate and get us there!

Thesa - We may have to go in summer because my husband has a certain number of set vacation days, but he does have enough extra time off to do that if it's going to work out better.

Ann - Very true, and I haven't seen the coast up there!  But Tall One is wanting to swim with little tropical fishies and hopefully something with dolphins.  I won't promise her the dolphins because it's so pricey and limited by numbers, but I'd like to get her into a swim with the dolphins thing, too.

Ines - I may have to ask you more about that, seeing great sea life if one of our goals!  Great picture, I'll be sure to show her!

Eloise - Thank you.  I'll be running around with two of my friends today.  One has great English skills, the other is more challenged.  When we all go out together, our more bilingual friend gets to practice her skills and we all giggle like little girls -- language doesn't seem to be a problem, sometimes it's part of the fun!

Joan - Oh, but they're hard!!  Fun to read, though!

Randy - That is GORGEOUS!!!  I would LOVE to go to Hawaii!  My parents went a couple times.  Hawaii may have to wait until I get these kids raised and can take my hubby on a second honeymoon!

Sorry, I don't have an ocean.  I can offer a stay at my house at Lake of the Ozarks which is a wonderful lake - but not the ocean.   I'm not surprised you're a "Newbie Nanny".  I do a lot of that too.  BTW, I used to work at a veterinary hospital and that's one of the biggest kitties I've ever seen.   LOL

Danny - Don't you blame me when you get attention!  I think you're pretty good at drawing attention yourself!  ;oD

Lea - I'm going to have to get an RV and start traveling AR country!  LOL!  I'd never heard "Newbie Nanny" -- I like that!  He is a big kitty, isn't he?  But so sweeeet!  I tell him he's Feline Perfection and he totally believes me, even with the kids telling him he's fat.  (He's big boned.  YES HE IS.)  I hate taking him to the vet, I have trouble lifting the carrier.

Sean - Keep the Mai Tai's chilled, I'll get there eventually!  Looking forward to reading that Meme!!  :o)  (And again, sorry about that!)

Allison - I'd love it, thanks!  I can't wait!

If you come, I need to take you to Marineland! Tall One and I can sit and watch dolphins all day, if you want to sit on the beach behind us and play in the ocean you can do that at the same time :)

Lysa - Marineland sounds like just the spot!  :o)  I'm not much of a beach bum, I wilt in the heat and need hte strongest sunblock I can find.  I have that almost see-through Irish skin that burns and then goes right back to white.  Can you guess why we haven't taken that poor child to the beach?!  But it's time.  She's growing up and I need to give her a fabulous vacation while I still can.  Thanks for encouraging her!  I LOVE those pictures!!

Billie - Thanks!  I'm the only paid blogger I've ever known, too!  Maybe I can start a trend.  ;o)  Florida sounds WONDERFUL!!  I love to plan things, glad I have plenty of time.  I've got to get Tall One's toes in some crystal clear tropical waters!

Sarah: You too were infected by the meme-virus! The best part of that is passing the virusactive rain|active codgers, your active fans ©2007 Codger Images on to three unsuspecting victims—er—fellow bloggers! The draw of the ocean affects even those of us that live a thousand miles from any ocean—several of my high school classmates enlisted in the Navy after high school—and a couple made it a career, and now live on one coast or another.

Sarah, Marineland is nothing like Seaworld, it is very small. The town it is in is call Marineland and the population is 16! It was originally opened to film movies, like Creature from the Black Lagoon. I believe the webiste is Marineland.net.

Sarah... great meme post. I just got tagged as well. Now I have to figure out what the heck people might not know about me. I'm thinking if I haven't shared it already... there's probably a reason. :)

Steve - Thanks for throwing that link in for me!  I liked that post from Jeff, I even had my Mom go read it.  :oD

Maggie - I was SOOO bursting to tell you about that!!!  Hawaii, Bahamas AND Florida?!?!  Blogging AND real estate don't pay THAT much!  LOL!

Deborah - I love my big, hefty cat, too!  Although to me he just looks normal.  I was born a Newbie Magnet.  One of my best friends in early elementary school didn't speak English.  I don't recall that even being a problem.  ;o)

Jay - You so got me with your Meme!  I loved how creative it was, and I was kicking myself for getting that one wrong!!  I should have KNOWN!!!  Working on getting Tall One and Little One to the beach now.  Now that I've told everyone, I HAVE to do it!

Lysa - Oooh, very cool!  Thanks for the link, I'll check it out!  (You have the BEST links!  Where do you find them all???)

Caroline - WOW!!!  Adults are amazed as well!!!

Jeff - Can't wait to see yours!  LOL!  They are so much more fun to read than to write.  I had a problem thinking of anything, too -- I pretty much blab nearly everything, and the stuff I don't talk about is on purpose!

BTW, I'm enjoying writing on your blogs, Jeff.  Thanks again for the chance!
