Today I joined a website that solicits the listings of Real Estate Agents and purports to promote them on over 100 different websites on the internet. Have you ever seen this? Do you have an opionon about it's effectiveness? This listing network is supposedly a free service. However the basic free service seems substantially lower than what one receives for $45.00 per month. Presumably, if you really like the free service you will begin to pine for the premium service.
It might be appealing if there was some kind of intermediate level but I don't think many will go from the basic free service to paying for services at $45.00 per month. Charging this much for internet space seems a bit unncessary today given the price of storage space is essentially free. Especially when Realtors are inputting the data that drives people to the sites.
Once again, we find another group trying to entice Realtors to pay for services that they already have bought. The site also sells advertising to Realtors and of course all their websites are set up with Google Adsence. It seems that if you can get a fool to part with his money twice, you can truly claim to be nobody's fool yourself. But if you are the fool that is frittering it away in multiple directions, you probably deserve the honor.
I have no intention of paying $45.00 a month for the premium service on top of the significant monthly amount I am already spending. The free bit may be of some value though. I posted a couple of listings to the sight to see if it will increase traffic to my listings and/or to my website. Since free is something that I can live with, it is worth giving a shot. The internet is one of the first and primary ways people search for homes today. There may be real value in this site for Realtors and their clients, but I am reserving my opinion for a while.
The site is called Free2List. If you are interested to check it out, feel free. Oh, and if you do try it out, you should know that I Do Not get anything for this....just in case you were wondering.
