Growing Your Business: Working With Family

I was reading one marketing tip to not work with family. Grant it, when I was first started working in real estate most of my business came from fami;y or through a family member's referral. And I am thankful for that. However, when it comes to providing service to a family member I think it is a case by case situation. Unfortunately, there are a couple of family members that I will never work with again. Simply because neither one would listen to my advice or consider my input. They were so bull headed and driven to their own perspective and focused on what a realtor does and does not do that I was just so glad when it was all over with. Next time, I will just refer them to someone else. On the other hand, I have worked with four other family members such as an auntie, older sister, her mother in law, & a cousin that the relationship worked well. And because of them being willing to listen and hear my ideas -- I was more driven to work hard for them.
