Taking the test . . .

Real Estate Agent with Apartment Experts

 Hi everybody,

My name is Roberto Lara and will relate my stories of starting up in the real estate industry.

So, I took the courses to get real estate license approximately 2 years ago. I bought this book to refresh my memory, but did not touch it until the evening before the exam. I tested this past Friday (5/18/07) and only passed the national test. I only had a chance to cover the national portion of the refresf your memory book, and it showed in the test results.

I will be testing again tomorrow (5/22/07) and will definetely pass the state section! I have no idea how many days takes for the real estate agent to be able to start working. I would like to start as soon as possible since I currently have no income.

I have been looking to maybe start as an apartment locator, since I feel this would bring in income faster. I might be mistaking. I, however, would like to also be able to list and sell real estate. I am really excited because I am going to work vere hard at being the best real I can be and serve my customers and clients the way the deserve to be treated. I might not know as much about real estate as other realtors, but rest assured if people decide to work with me they will not be dissapointed. I plan to dedicate 110% of my time to my clients and will make sure the process goes as smoothly and pain free as possible.

Things I have to get done once I get the real estate license

  • Design and Print business cards
  • Get domain name and design site
  • Get in contact with some local brokers and set up appointments

Well, I will continue to post as soonest I get more into the real estate industry in the beautiful city of Austin, Texas. If there are other real estate agents that are just starting, or anybody who would like to give me some more insight into the real estate busines I would love to hear from your. Blog to you soon.

TO pass the test as well there is a book that they sell at Broders that is manufactured by the same company that write the exam questions.  IN reality - passing the test doesn't mean much as there is little that you put into real use from the course and exams - practical experience is what makes and agent better.

I know the test does not determine what kind of agent you will be in the industry.  I have worked in entrepreneurial environments before and I also have a degree in Finance. I know nothing comes easy, but I am willing to work hard to establish my name and service as top notch. Thanks for the comments and for reading.

Your attitude and drive to succeed are two of the most important keys to success and it sounds like you have a lot of enthusiasm and energy for the job which will serve you well. Apartment locating is especially good in the beginning of your career as you might have more contacts looking to lease then buy at that point and most pay almost a full months rent. It also is a good way to plant seeds with those lease clients who later will become home purchasers. Take care of them and keep in touch and they will remember you and fuel your future home sales business. Check out smartlocating.com for apt. leasing. I do almost all sales myself but this site has helped me also serve my clients apartment needs which used to be cumbersome until I got on board with them.  Good Luck To You!!
