For the ninth year, the Fun with Chalk Art Festival, sponsored by The Children's Creative Festival, a non-profit organization was held in Mission Viejo, California.  The proceeds from the event provide funding for fine arts programs for children in Orange County, California.  The annual event is an Italian-style street painting festival.  It was honored by the United States Congress on July 8, 2003.  The festival was held at Norman P. Murray Community Center, 24932 Veterans Way at La Paz Rd., Mission Viejo, California.  For information about next year's event call:

Lynda-Thanks.  It was so much fun watching all these works of art taking shape.  And the money sure goes to a great cause.

Marlene,

Where do you get such a great calendar of events for South Orange County?!  My wife would have loved this!  I feel silly being a resident of Ladera Ranch and being right next door to MV without knowing about great events such as this.  Can you point me towards a web site or newspaper that would put me "in the know"?

 Best,
Morgan

Hi Morgan,

The way that I find out by most events I attend is through networking.  I'm President of the Laguna HIlls/Laguna Woods Chamber of Commerce.  It affords me a lot of exposur to people who are actively involved in South Orange County.  I also learn about events because in my work I am out and about a lot.  When I see a banner, I make note in my Palm and make a plan to attend.  Also, OCnow.com has a section of local events---http://www.ocnow.com/#6.  There was just too much going on this wekend to do it all.  But, I was fortunate to be able to attend a few events.

Marlene,

Thank you very much for the information!  I appreciate you sharing your various resources as well.  I will check OC Now, but it may take me a while to land a seat on my local (MV/Ladera) Chamber!

Best,
Morgan
