UPPER MONTGOMERY COUNTY MD HOME PRICES DOWN
This chart shows the median prices on homes sold in Upper Montgomery County Maryland from March 2008 through March of this year. The overall trend has been down and March median prices are 20% below the prices last year. The good news is that median prices during March were up from January and February. The agents in our office at RE/MAX Realty Group are experiencing a significant increase home purchase activity. Much of the activity relates to short sales listings of financially distressed home owners and major activity in the inventory of lender owned homes. Individual homes owners that are not compelled to sell are waiting for a stronger market before listing their homes for sale. It is difficult for individual owners to compete with the price discounts on the lender owned homes (REO).
