Not 'closed' on Sunday means closing on Sundays

Colorado Springs - closingI did a closing this morning at 10:30 a.m. in Colorado Springs.

What's so unusual about that, you're probably asking.

It's Sunday.

To a notary signing agent, being asked to do a closing on a Sunday morning is not at all unusual.  For those of us who are available 24/7, it's part of the job.  We gladly provide the service to the mortgage industry.

The disadvantage for the notary signing agent is that, we don't have a "day off".

miller timeThere is no "Miller Time".

We never know when we'll be called to do a closing, so we have to be ready to drive at a moment's notice.

However, there are many advantages ...

... for the borrower.

closedFor the borrower it means that they can do the closing of their loan any day of the week, at any hour of the day.  If the title company is closed, that's not a problem.

There is a notary signing agent who is not 'closed', which means that the closing can still take place. ...

open Sundays... even on a Sunday.

I would love to be able to close on a weekend. I have caught clients late on Friday night trying to getinto their home that they are close to haveing recorded. We can't give them the keys until in records, but sometimes the builder does and they always act guilty when I show up to get the sign it is funny-Dinah Lee

Dinah, contact a notary signing agent in your area if you ever need a closing done on a weekend.

Roy, there's no such thing as working too hard if it means providing a valuable service to the borrowers.

I'm laughing at Roy's comment.  However, Leon is absolutely right.  As a mobile notary, you work when and where you can and don't think twice about it.  I love what I do and I'm fortunate enough to be working.  I do not take it for granted.  I feel truly blessed.
