Can anyone tell me how I can go about getting my website up in google's ranking on the google page?
I have two competitors whose name shows up under activerain.com/.... and I would like to find out how to get my name added. Can anyone help me with this?

activerain.com/yourname is the profile for active rain. You have one as well. Read posts about SEO and google juice to learn how to rank it higher.
Thanks Shane. I'm not sure how to find my name after the activerain/.... I've done searches and can't figure out how it's captured. It appears that my business name might be first. I wonder how much it matters if business name is there instead of name...? Any ideas of figuring out how it's added when you create your profile?

Thats yours. You picked it when you signed up and you cant change it. It really doesnt matter what the name is how well it ranks is determined by other factors. One of the easiest SEO things you can do is make a lot of comments as each one counts as a link towards your profile.
There are several groups here that can help you as well. Reading posts is how I learned. Try searching here on AR for Katerina Gassett and SEO together. She is real easy to unerstand.

I see that I cannot make any changes to the AR URL name, just wanted to be certain of that. I'll be doing a lot of investigating and learning as I continue to build my site and the business. Never dreamed there'd be such a learning curve when dealing with Internet Marketing. It's facinating and mind boggling all at the same time! Where do people find the time to keep up with all the changes in technology?
I'll search for Katerina, attend IM meetings, search, read, and absorb lots of interesting ideas to add one-at-a-time-slowly-and-piece-by-piece...... I need to find some 20 year old guys who know this stuff like the back of their hands! Maybe I'll adopt one of them.... ;-)
