I was fortunate enough to be invited to the new clubhouse grand opening recently. You may be thinking, big deal, another golf clubhouse opens. In this economic climate is this something worthy of a celebration? My opinion is you betcha!
This clubhouse was unlike anything I have seen in a very long time. It was truly grand, impeccably well appointed, quite simply spectacular! Hundreds of guests, all dressed to the nines, enjoyed live music, caviar, cocktails and every type of delectable food imaginable.
As I mingled through the crowd, I heard no discussions of the sad state of the economy, no woes in regards to the future. What I did witness was smiling, happy property owners and their guests having a fantastic time.
Everyone deserves the opportunity, however brief, to forget the daily media maelstrom of financial instability. These homeowners should be afforded the opportunity to revel in their accomplishments, to celebrate the success of the community as a whole. We all have worked hard, just to see retirement drift a little further into the future, or current retirement status becoming precarious. <i>Pride of ownership – always a reason to celebrate – party on!</i>
