Do you remember "where's the beef?"- Well, it's a PJ's at Lake Sinclair

For years there has not been a great steak house locally.  Recently that changed and PJ's Steak House opened near Lake Sinclair and it's a GREAT steak house.

The new local family owned Steak House prides itself on you getting more than you expect and leaving full and satisfied.

I'm not a huge steak eater, but every now and again I do get the craving, but my husband LOVES steak.

Recently when I came home from work tired and he was tired from his day at work he said... let's go to X for dinner, well poor sad Donald ... I had to tell him X was closed for remodeling.  So I suggested we give PJ's Steak House a try.

Now I've known the Stevens family for years.  Our daughters went to grade school together.  PJ's had been a local bar and pool hall for 17 years when they closed down last July and revamped and opened the new Steak House.

So to begin our meal we started with Fried Green Beans... I had sweet tea and Donald had draft beer on tap. If you haven't tried fried green beans... you should really give it a try.  They were fabulous.  And those home made cheese biscuits were hot from the oven and just melted in my mouth.

And just as we finished our "appi-teaser" our entrees arrived.  The timing was perfection.

Donald ordered Rib Eye, and baked sweet potato and buttered corn.  His steak was perfectly cooked medium to order and was buttery delicious.

I had chopped steak smoothered in gravy and freshly sliced mushrooms and onions with baked potatoe and broccoli.  It was perfect.

Steaks are cut and cooked to order, so your steak is never pre cut.  They serve Prime Rib, Rib Eye, New York Strip and Filet cut and cooked to order.  So if 10 oz Filet is what you want... bingo right place and if your dinner date wants a 36 oz. New York Strip, bingo right place.

I had no room left for dessert, but next time I go I'll be saving room because the lady at the table next to me ordered Georgia Peach Time and it was home made peach cobbler with ice cream and it smelled and looked scrumptious.

So if you are at Lake Sinclair and looking for a fantastic steak dinner... go to PJ's Steak House

Yummy!  I don't eat steak much either, but when I am in the mood, a really good steak really hits the spot!

Really must be a man thing Gary.  I can take or leave it most times.  But I love that's it's fresh cut to order.

Susie- When waitresses ask Donald if he wants steak sauce he asks them "Is something going to be wrong with the steak I need to cover up?"  He was impressed with PJ's and that's no easy task.

Hi Tammy, I don't think it's a man thing -- I love steak! So if I am ever in Lake Sinclair, you will find me at PJ's ! I haven't had fried green beans before, I'll have to try them.  Very nice write up about your "new" Steak House!

Tammy I forgot to ask -- I don't care for sweet tea-- everywhere I've been East,  when I ask for plain tea they look at me like I have six eyes... can I get plain tea at PJs ????

Mary you can, but you can't ask for "plain" tea you have to ask for "unsweet" tea for us southerners to know what in the heck you are talking about.  And I know what you mean... I asked for hot pepper vinegar in Pennsylvania once and I got that same look.  Like what?  what planet are you from?  Of course once in Arizona a waitress told my 13 year old that Okra wasn't a vegetable and Abi said (she's weird mom)

Sharon- I like steak... just don't love it.  And only like it once in a while.  I think my mom did this to me. I was floored when I found out they don't use any canned anything.  They slice the mushrooms right before they cook them.  Pam Stevens is a great cook and one of their daughters makes all the desserts.  There are several of those I can't wait to try.  And it was really affordable too.

You know Sheldon... I know the entire family and I truly have NO idea where PJ's came from.  But then they also own a carpet business named Cleveland Carpet??  But they also have a landscaping business and it's perfect... it's called BIG BOY TOYS.

Plain tea... Mary who ever heard of such a thing?  I'm going to have to run that one by my waitress daughter.

Dinah- I'd much rather take home half my dinner and eat dessert.  You know what they say about life being short.  I might not wake up and that would be an awful shame.

O_O  OMG. "Fried" green beans? Plus appetizers AND steak? I can't even eat an appetizer. That is my husband's kind of meal though. And my parents too. I'll have to pass, but I'll send the rest of the family.
