Advertising on your business card

I'm in the process of designing my new logo and corporate identity suite...  I know I want to use as much space on my business cards as possible to market my business and services.  Over the years, I've collected hundreds of business cards and finally thought they were going to come in handy.  I wanted to go thru them all to see how others have used the backs of their cards.  I went thru each and every card I ever saved, only to find that NONE of them used the back of the card to list their services!  Some used the flip side of their cards for Appointment forms, others used them for a little quote like "Your biggest compliment is a referal to your friends" blah, blah...  But I was shocked that no one put their services on the card!

I've learned that the back of the card is a great place to list all of one's services.  What if a customer only thinks you provide service in one area, and wouldn't think of you for something else even though you offer a wide range of services?

How many of you actually use all that space?  If you don't, why not?  If you do, have you found it to be beneficial?

I have no ideas for you at the moment but your post intrigued me. I will be watching closely how others might respond.

My hesitency is based on that fact that I am about to do the very same thing. I have a new site and a new logo and I will be proceeding within the next few weeks. Thanks for bringing up the subject in your post.

I use both sides of my card.  I also have the front UV coated (plastic coated) I put business card magents and some.  They seem to be very popular and are kept much longer than standard cards.

I say the more you can make it about THEM and not so much you or your services.. people like that..  they always want to talk about "me"  ... after all that IS the most important person to them.

I think as much information and your message is very important.  I truly think to do this effectively it's all in design & content layout.  I do pay for a designer to do this for me better then I ever could.  I have used both sides of my cards ever since I started the business 18 years ago and have no reason to change it.

I recently picked up a business card that flips open. It's the size of 2 regular cards, folded in half. As you can imagine, it has room for a lot of information: front, 2 inside, back.

I use the back of my business card to list 2 sub-websites that I have for other products/services that I offer.  It lists the product in bold and then the web site, so anyone looking for that specific item can go directly there.  I think it is great to take advantage of the back space, however, I would caution not to "overfill" it so that it is difficult to read or appears cluttered.  Keep it simple and snappy!

Thanks everyone...  I'm trying to decide if I should just put a bullet list of services that I offer or a more personal "quote" or paragraph telling how I can help with Staging and Design services.  I guess I can always change it around the next time I get them printed.

Technology bringing you home.
Definitely utilize both side of your card, in your industry having that artistic look and edge will set you apart from the others.  Keep it simple, but make a statement.  I utilize a printer that gets me 1000 business cards for $30 - front & back full color prints.  I would be happy to give you their information if you like.  Best of luck

Dear Open,

Thanks, I'd love to know who your printer is.  It never hurts to get quotes :)  I plan to put some simple info on the back of my card, but still leave enough white space for someone to make a comment or something.  People say it's always a good idea to jot down where/when you receive a business card so you remember how you got it.
