Sometimes in this day and age we forget just how important some things are. We are all trying to get the most out of our money and in some cases just scraping by. Well I have to share what happened yesterday morning that brought my attention back to life insurance.
I had a client call who wanted to thank us for being so persistent in getting him to purchase life insurance. He is married and has 3 boys under the age of 13. His wife has been sick and was told it was a sinus infection and turned into pneumonia. After several rounds of antibiotics that were not working, they took her back to the hospital. Turns out she has cancer that has taken over her entire body. They have only given her at most a week to live. They are devastated as most of us would be. It hurts me to even think about what they are all going through. How do you say goodbye? How do you tell your children? I can't even comprehend it.
The only positive thing is that our agency saw the need for them to have a life insurance policy and were persistent in trying to make the client understand that. When he called yesterday, he was so grateful that we had done that and that he had listened. It is one less thing for him to have to worry about in this terrible time in their life.
Sometimes Insurance professionals can almost be looked at like a used car salesman and that goes with the territory I guess. But I am proud of what I do because I never sell anyone anything that they don't have a need for and because I KNOW that we have helped at least this one person in their time of need.
Life insurance is something that you hope you never have to use but it is so important to have if you ever have to.
