Junk Mail

By
Real Estate Agent

In honor of Earth Day, here is a tip on what to do with your junk mail, recycle it, how?  By turning it into compost, the process of turning dead organic matter into fertilizer . Some cities have a recycling program where you can by a compose bin so buy one if you don't have one already, and recycle all that junk mail. The compost can be used to grow tomatoes, and flowers. The things average households like to grow in their garden.

The bacteria that convert the shredded junk mail into compost is a mixture of stale beer and soda pop. They both contain sugar on which the bacteria thrive. The same thing that is making us fat can now make the bacteria fat. Give it a try. For more information on what more is required to make composting a success go to http://www.ciwmb.ca.gov/Organics/CompostMulch .
