North Myrtle Beach, SC is on FIRE!

By
Home Stager with Renewed Rooms

So far, 30 sq. miles are burning all around me...  It really makes you realize what is really important in life.

For pet lovers, there are shelters all around for owners with pets.  They say they are taking this lesson from Katrina... I say THANKFULLY you took the lesson from Katrina.

It is so comforting to see folks who have just lost everything say "These are things...it is life that is important"...even though they cry.

It is so comforting to see a community come together to help one another in a time of need.

It is comforting to see local goverments...go above and beyond...

It is comforting that middle America says "God Bless America"  even when the upper class want to treat us like second class citizens.

It just is unfathomable to think of an area that large that is burning. I've certainly never been around anything like that so out of control. The closest I can come is when Mt. St. Helen's blew her top in the 80's. We didn't know how bad it was going to get, and how long it would last. But it did stop, and so will your fires. Wishing you a safe outcome. Your community will be stronger in the end.

Honestly, it was so close yet had a surreal feeling.  I understand it is 40% contained...but the NMB area is about 75% contained.  The local government and firefighters did an awesome job.  They are not done but are cautiously optimistic.

I remember Mt. St. Helen's.  We were living in So. California and my oldest son bought ashes from the eruption and gave it to my husband as a Christmas present!

I wish that "on fire" meant doing really well in business, what a horrible thing to have to go through.  My prayers to all the families suffering through this.

Good luck, we have been having flash floods.  Last night, I almost couldn't get to my house because of high water, luckily I was in a Suburban.

I understand.  When I lived in Angleton, TX many, many years ago I had several instances where water would be at bumper and one time we were about to evacuate because the water was 1/2 way up our yard...we were lucky that we were higher than our neighbors down the street...10 homes were flooded...

The power of Nature.
