It’s time to shake off those Winter blahs and get moving!  Spring in the Pacific Northwest means that the mountains and the sailboats will be out most days.  People will go outdoors and smile at friends they’ve missed:  sunshine, flowers, the neighbors .  .  .  .

Spring is also a good time to renew the commitments we made on January 1st, take another look at business plans, and re-establish priorities.  With so much going on in our lives these days, where do you start?  I had this conversation with a friend of mine earlier this week and we came up with some ideas I’d like to share with you.

1.    Get away for a weekend if you can.  Go to the mountains or the ocean, breathe some fresh air, look at the stars, and re-connect with your true self.  A change of scene is great for thinking clearly and getting re-energized!

2.    Promise yourself that you will not work in a cluttered mess of an office.  It will slow you down and stress you out.  Get organized!

3.    Your contacts, subscribers, community .  .  .  these people are your business.  Clean out and update your Top Producer database to keep it manageable and current.

4.    Plan to stay in touch with your contacts consistently.  Think of all the ways you can do that:  email, phone calls, post cards, birthday cards, free educational events such as teleclasses or webinars, workshops for people in your local area.

5.    Think of the wealth of information you can share with your community.  Here are just a few topics we thought of:

  • What first-time home buyers need to know (and a refresher for the rest of us).

  • Getting your home ready to sell.

  • Staging your home.

  • Tips for maintaining your home.

  • Making your home more energy-efficient.

  • Ideas for green living.

  • Seasonal gardening tips.

6.    Consider the idea of presenting a teleclass or webinar as a joint venture with a partner in a related industry such as a loan officer, home stager, appraiser, etc.  Think of the opportunities for lead generation and list building.

7.    Put your ideas in writing!  Then determine how you will carry out those plans.  Merely writing them down is not enough.  You still need to schedule time in your day to take action and follow through.

You will be able to accomplish more by working with a Virtual Assistant who knows how to help you with your Top Producer 8i and 7i and other projects.  If the idea of working with a Virtual Assistant is new to you, why not try one hour of my time?  No commitments, no strings attached.

Vicki: Thanks for the reminder! I appreciate it. These are always good. Sometimes we forget what got us to where we are now. A gentle kick in the rear never hurts! Take care.
