Here is a very simple straightforward idea that I almost forgot about when I moved recently. For all complex wiring setups around your home like your stereo (especially if you have HDTV and a multi-speaker setup) be sure to snap some photos of the wiring setups BEFORE you move. 
Also make sure you will have access to view the pics if taken with a digital camera. (otherwise you'll have to setup the computer first)
