The Kentucky Derby

The first Saturday in May every year is the famous Kentucky Derby. One and half miles long,  known as "The Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports".  It is the first leg of the Triple Crown of Thoroughbred  Racing.  Typically the race draws a crowd of approximately 160,000 fans.

The fireworks are spectacular along with the numerous Derby parties.

The traditional singing of My Old Kentucky Home as the horses come on to the track  makes you aware that it's only minutes to the Run for the Roses.

Win or lose it an event that you won't forget and it goes back 125 years. Beautiful Women,   Big Hats,  Mint Juleps, Infield Crowd, & Fast Horses. What an exciting day in Kentucky.  If you haven't been make plans to come next year.  You'll love it.

Connie--If I wanted to come to the Derby next year, what is the best way to get tickets and accommodations for the 2010 Kentucky Derby. That will be my 25th Anniversary, and I want to do something special for my wife.

Connie - I hadn't put into perspective that the Kentucky Derby actually is only a 2 minute race.  The hoopla, hats, mint juleps, and celebration of it all, surpasses that mere heartbeat of the clock.
