Europe bags print for SEO and SEM - Are we FAR behind?

I guess I should say "Its about gosh-darn time".

Today on Econsultancy I found that a study by EIAA (interactive Advertising Association) says 70% of Advertisers in Europe will be removing funds from Traditional media budgets in favor of Online Advertising this year. 55% will be increasing SEO budgets while 45% will increase their SEM budget.

Two things: First - I would guess that the US is dragging behind this stat, and even with newspapers failing people are still investing in direct mail, radio and other poor ROI has beens.

Second: Another nice win for google, who stands to gain the most of this budget change.  Google turned 10 years old recently, (well, in Sept...so a long time ago) and it still baffles my mind how they have grown up so quickly.  (oh, btw- thanks for my cool google coffee mug,  from the adwords launch - still in use years later)

Speaking of things that are old and DO still work - There are plenty of options for those eager to invest in SEO - Mary had a great  free seo tool post waaaayyyy back in 2006 on SEO that still holds merit and still gets attention. You can still improve your Page Rank buy using many of her ideas - or, join the rest of the world in moving your marketing budget online.

(floorplanonline supports that idea! ;)

Chris, it has to happen here as well. Many real estate agents including us are already much more heavily oline than print.
